VR Horror Game


Description
A procedurally generated VR horror game where friends can torment you by spawning and controlling monsters from their phones. All while you are trying to solve the puzzles and escape the mansion.
This project got mostly abandoned, though I’d like to revisit it.
The idea was there were prebuilt rooms that would be connected by doorways and the rooms would be randomly selected similar to the boardgame “Betrayal at House on the Hill”. Was wanting to explore the idea of asymmetric multiplayer where the other players are against the VR player, borrowing from the Wii U’s local multiplayer games and the fact that my friends enjoy getting together to play VR games at the time.
I had a the room generation mostly working with each room being a level and using UE4’s level streaming. Only a couple of rooms were setup and had one monster (a large spider) working being remotely controlled from a phone.
The models and art were from the Epic asset store except for the flashlight, hands, and key which I modeled and textured.
